How our CSA Works
You can sign up for our Spring Share Today!
Join our CSA and commit to support local farms for a season. We organize CSAs year-round with three “seasons” to join: Winter, Spring, and Summer/Fall. We are currently in the middle of our Winter Share, which runs through the end of February. We allow late-signups each season, so anyone can join the CSA at any time.
Where does the food come from?
During the Winter and Spring Seasons, we source all of the produce from Blue Sky Organic Farm and Crooked Sky Farm (organic certification in process.) Both of these farms are located in the Phoenix Valley, about 150 miles away, which means we have access to a wonderful selection of fruits and vegetables, as these shares coincide with Phoenix’s peak growing season.
How much food comes in each share?
There are two options for CSA share size. Full Share members receive 7-9 items every week. Half Share members receive the same 7-9 items, but only every other week. Vegetables and fruits are chosen each week depending on what is ready to harvest.
Wondering what types of things you’ll be getting? Here’s an example of a winter share list we had one week in December: sweet potatoes or red potatoes, cauliflower, onion, citrus, herb of choice, kale, salad mix, carrots. Please note, however, that part of being a member of the CSA is recognizing that you share in the risks and rewards of farming. The size and items in a share is dependent on the weather, the success of the farms at any given point . Most members rave about the quality, cosnsitency and range of items in the share, however.
